It is with great sadness that the Committee of the Irish Jaguar & Daimler Club has to announce the cancellation of the 29th Irish Classic & Vintage Motor Show due to be held in Terenure College, Dublin, this July.
Unfortunately the part of the College grounds used for public car parking is no longer available. This piece of land was crucial to the running of the show given the huge numbers attending in recent years. The Club has tried to secure alternative parking locally but with no success. The Club has also looked to secure an alternate venue in and around the city that has capacity for up to 1,500 cars and up to 12,000 members of the public. Sadly those available over the Summer are not suitable for cost or traffic management reasons.
Over the last 30 years the show has become a highlight of the Irish motoring year and has grown to become not only Irelands largest car show with representatives from most of the premium car marques and classic car clubs but also a family fun day with live music, children’s entertainment and a variety of food courts.
IJDC Chairman John McEneff said “We are not giving up on the Irish Classic & Vintage Motor Show and a team is now in place looking at more potential venues for next year”
The Committee of the IJDC would like to thank all those that have sent messages of support and to those that have tried to help us secure an alternate site for our show. We look forward to seeing you all again in 2024.
