  • Cancellation of the 2022 Irish Classic & Vintage Motor Show

It is with great regret that the committee of the Irish Jaguar & Daimler Club announce the cancellation of this year’s Irish Classic & Vintage Motor Show, aka the Terenure Car Show, due to be held on Sunday 3rd July.

Unfortunately, this is the third year we have had to cancel what has become Ireland’s biggest and best car show. While Ireland is now reaching the final stages of the Covid-19 outbreak we do not believe that it will be possible to organize a show to the standard we would wish in the time available to us. As the show takes place in the grounds of a working secondary school it is not possible to reschedule the event for later in the year.  Instead we will focus on next year’s show on the first weekend in July 2023 building on the huge success of our 28th annual show in 2019.

IJDC Chairman John McEneff said “Terenure has grown to become the largest and most prestigious car show in the country and, while it is run to professional standards, at its core is a voluntary team of organizers from our Club. Canceling the show is a difficult decision to make, and we realize that many will be disappointed, but we don’t believe that we can hold an event in July of the scale and quality we would want. The IJDC continues to thrive and, in the coming months, we will start work to hold an even better show in 2023.”

The Irish Classic & Vintage Motor Show, held by the Irish Jaguar & Daimler Club  in the grounds of Terenure College, Dublin is Ireland’s largest car show attracting up 1,500 vehicles and 12,000 members of the public. Over the past 30 years the show has become a highlight of the Irish motoring year and a fixture in the Dublin Summer social scene as well as supporting a range of charities and good causes.
