Built from 1954 to 1957 the XK 140 replaced the XK 120. Upgrades over its predecessor included better brakes and rack and pinion steering. 8,937 XK 140s were produced with 86% being left hand drive, mainly for the American market.

US based David Glueck has carried out a lot of body and trim work to bring his Drop Head Coupe up to the standard you see here. Reliability modifications include a custom alloy radiator with both a mechanical flex type fan and an electric parade fan, front disk brake conversion and replacing the dynamo with an alternator to support a radio and recharging mobile phones.
